SUMMARY:Lyrids Folk Dance Festival 2025
DESCRIPTION:The eleventh Lyrids Folk Dance Festival\, sponsored by Burnaby International Folk Dancers\, will happen May 9-11\, 2025 at Pitt Meadows Heritage Hall an hour drive east of Vancouver\, BC\, Canada.  Our guest artists are Željko Jergan presenting Croatian dances\, and Dimitrios Kontogiannis presenting Greek dances. DESCRIPTION:Come dance with us Tuesday evenings at Charles Rummel Centre in Burnaby from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. June 3rd is our end of season party for the summer\, and we’ll return in September. Please bring a snack to share and festive wear and costumes encouraged. Doors open at 6:45 to get ready for the warm-up dances starting at 7:00. Drop-in is $7. First time is FREE. No partner or costume required. \nSummer dancing will be at Ceperley Park in Stanley Park (blacktop/basketball court) from 7-9 pm for 4 nights (June 17\, 24\, July 8\, 15) and Confederation Park at the Cenotaph from 7-9 pm for 4 nights (July 22\, 29\, August 5\, 12). It’s free. All ages are welcome. Most dances will be taught. Please bring a friend a long as everyone is welcome. \n \nHappy dancing!
