DESCRIPTION:The Lyrids Folk Dance Festival and the Kyklos International Folk Dancers invite you to our online folk dance festival.  \n \nSaturday and Sunday morning Tineke and Maurits van Geel will teach Armenian and Roma dances\, as well as some international top hits. DESCRIPTION:Burnaby International Folk Dancers present Jaap Leegwater with live music for two Bulgarian online dance workshops via Zoom on Tuesdays\, February 16 and February 23. Accompanying Jaap will be Jan Wollring\, accordionist and Tijn Boissevain with video and technical support. Our club runs weekly Tuesday evening Zoom sessions from 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm (PST)\, although for Jaap’s two workshops we will run from 7:30 – 10:00 pm (PST).   \nJaap is an experienced and dynamic workshop leader specializing in Bulgarian dance and culture for over 30 years. During his numerous research and field trips to Bulgaria\, Jaap collected and recorded many original dances and songs from village elders throughout the country where folklore traditions are still a vibrant way of life. Jaap and his accordionist\, Jan Wollring are excited and eager to share these two exciting and fun workshops with us! \nBoth workshops are free of charge and sponsored by Burnaby International Folk Dancers’ Club.
